It seamlessly merges social simulation with easy-to-use content creation tools in a unique and vibrant city playground.

Welcome to the world of Phenoms, an innovative social sandbox multiplayer game where you can create your character and customize your home inside a fascinating city filled with magic.

Summerland:
 

Welcome to Summerland, an innovative social sandbox multiplayer game where you can create your character, customize your home and hang out with your friends (and make new ones!) inside a fascinating virtual city filled with activities, NPC to meet and quests to discover.

Contributions:

  • Game design:

    • Brainstorming and presentations.

    • World structure:

      • Gameplay units (instantiation and persistence).

      • The HUB and the user experience of the players in it.​

      • Player housing system, including customization, social interactions and user experience for both play and customization modes. 

      • World exploration UX.

      • Shopping experience UX. 
         

    • FTUE UX flow.​
       

    • Different tiers of social interactions and the UX experience associated with each of them. 
       

    • 3Cs: 

      • Character's move set, metrics and exposed parameters.

      • Third-person interactive camera behaviour for the overworld, including activities like fishing and shopping and the player's house editor.  ​

      • Controls (touch screen, keyboard & mouse and gamepad).
        ​​

    • Activities and minigames:​

      • Core loops, UX, progression system, reward system and matchmaking system.​
         

    • UGC: 

      • Core loop, UX and player trading system.
         

  • Level design:

    • The HUB and housing unit floor plans using Illustrator and importing them into Blender for grayblocking.

    • Metrics and global rules.

    • Grayblock in Blender to import and tweak in Unreal Engine. 
       

  • Implementation:

    • Close collaboration with developers to ensure design intentions were met, perform stress tests and streamline the overall testing and iteration process. ​

    • Exposed parameters fine-tuning and feature balancing.

    • GUI. 

    • Close collaboration with concept and 3D artists to ensure the design intentions for the environment and characters are met.
